Please read the following carefully before using any services provided by Ricks Auto Solutions. By purchasing or using our services ("Repair Order Review," "Pocket Tech," or any other consultation), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms, disclaimers, and safety warnings.
- General Disclaimers & Nature of Service
- Informational Purposes Only: Services provided by Ricks Auto Solutions are intended for informational, educational, and advisory purposes only. We offer guidance based on industry knowledge, experience, and information provided by you, the customer.
- Information Provided by You: The accuracy and usefulness of our advice depend heavily on the accuracy and completeness of the information you provide (vehicle details, symptoms, repair estimates, photos, etc.). Ricks Auto Solutions is not responsible for inaccurate advice resulting from incorrect or incomplete information supplied by the customer.
- Not Exhaustive: Our advice may not cover every possible scenario, variable, or potential issue related to your vehicle or repair situation.
- No Guarantees: Ricks Auto Solutions does not guarantee any specific outcome, such as guaranteed cost savings, successful negotiation with repair facilities, or the successful completion or outcome of any DIY repair.
- Repair Order Review Service - Specific Disclaimers
- Not a Substitute for Physical Inspection: Our review of repair orders, estimates, and diagnoses is conducted remotely based on the documents you provide. It is NOT a substitute for a thorough, hands-on physical inspection and diagnosis by a qualified mechanic examining your actual vehicle. Underlying issues may exist that are not apparent from paperwork alone.
- Estimates and Opinions: Opinions provided on the fairness of estimates, necessity of repairs, or potential diagnoses are based on standard industry practices, labor time guides, typical part costs, and the information provided. Actual costs and final diagnoses by a repair facility may vary.
- Repair Facility Recommendations: Recommendations for specific repair facilities are provided as suggestions based on publicly available information (e.g., certifications, reviews) or our experience. Ricks Auto Solutions does not endorse, guarantee, or warranty the work, pricing, quality, or business practices of any third-party repair facility. Customers are responsible for performing their own due diligence when selecting a repair shop.
- Advocacy & Communication: When providing advocacy services (contacting shops, drafting letters), Ricks Auto Solutions acts as a facilitator on your behalf with your explicit permission. This service does not constitute legal advice or legal representation. For legal disputes, please consult a qualified attorney.
Disclaimers, Terms of Service, and Safety Warnings (Continued)
- Pocket Tech (DIY Support) Service - CRITICAL SAFETY WARNINGS & Disclaimers
- AUTO REPAIR IS INHERENTLY DANGEROUS: Working on vehicles involves significant risks, including but not limited to:
- Crushing injuries from improperly supported vehicles.
- Severe burns from hot fluids or components.
- Electric shock from electrical systems.
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals (fuel, oil, coolant, solvents, battery acid).
- Eye injuries from debris or fluids.
- Fire hazards.
- Other serious bodily harm, permanent disability, or death.
- YOU ASSUME ALL RISK: By choosing to perform Do-It-Yourself (DIY) repairs, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with these activities. You are solely responsible for your actions, your safety, the safety of others around you, and the outcome of your repairs.
- PRIORITIZE SAFETY ALWAYS:
- Always use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and suitable clothing.
- Work in a well-lit, well-ventilated, and uncluttered area.
- NEVER work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always use appropriately rated jack stands securely placed at manufacturer-recommended support points.
- Disconnect the vehicle's battery before working on electrical components or as instructed by repair procedures. Follow correct disconnection/reconnection procedures (usually negative terminal first for disconnection, last for reconnection).
- Keep fire extinguishers readily available.
- Handle all fluids and chemicals according to safety guidelines and dispose of them properly.
- Read and follow all safety warnings specific to your vehicle and any tools or equipment used.
- USE PROPER TOOLS & PROCEDURES: Always use the correct tools for the job. Using incorrect tools can damage parts or cause injury. Follow vehicle-specific repair procedures carefully. If instructions are unclear, seek clarification before proceeding.
- REMOTE GUIDANCE LIMITATIONS: Guidance provided via email, phone, or video call is based on the limited information and visuals you provide. We cannot see, hear, or feel everything happening with your vehicle. Our advice is limited by this remote nature, and misinterpretations or unforeseen issues can arise.
- NO LIABILITY FOR DIY OUTCOMES: Ricks Auto Solutions, including its owner and any affiliates, shall not be held liable for any personal injury, death, damage to your vehicle or property, loss of use, or any other damages or losses incurred as a result of your DIY repair attempts, even if you were following guidance provided by us.
- KNOW YOUR LIMITS - SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP: If you encounter a step you are unsure about, lack the necessary tools or skills, or feel uncomfortable proceeding for any reason, STOP work immediately and consult a qualified professional mechanic. Do not attempt repairs beyond your capability.
- REPAIR INFORMATION ACCURACY: We strive to provide accurate repair information often sourced from third-party professional databases. However, Ricks Auto Solutions cannot guarantee the absolute accuracy, completeness, or applicability of this data to every specific vehicle configuration, model year variation, or unique situation. Information should be used critically.
- Limitation of Liability
Except where prohibited by law, you agree that the total liability of Ricks Auto Solutions, its owner, employees, and affiliates, for any claim arising out of or relating to the services provided, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, shall be limited to the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim. In no event shall Ricks Auto Solutions be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
- No Warranty
All services provided by Ricks Auto Solutions are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability,1 fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
